FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Janaury 30/31, 2010

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                            Jeremiah 1.4-5, 17-19

Responsorial Psalm:            My mouth will tell, O Lord, of your deeds of salvation.

Reading II                           1 Corinthians 12.31-13.13

Gospel:                                Luke 4.21-30

·         When they heard Jesus speak, their reaction was not to what he said but to what they knew of Jesus’ foster-father Joseph. What did they know? Only that he was a village carpenter and a quiet man; they judged Jesus by association.

·         Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have not listened to people with unwelcome messages and instead have judged them by association, by their families or hometown or trade or whatever.

LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN

Back by popular demand! Once again the Liturgy of the Word for Children is being provided to the children of our parish. It will be every Sunday except on the first Sunday of the month which is our Family Mass. Bring your children, grandchildren and friends to hear the Good News!

If you have any questions please contact Louise MacMillan.

 NEED A RIDE?

With the snow on the ground and cold weather it's not always easy for those don't have a vehicle to get to church for mass or other functions. If you need a ride or can offer a ride, a sign up sheet will be placed at the main entrance of the church for you to indicate your contact information and which area you live in. Those that can offer assistance are invited to verify the sheet and contact the fellow parishioner(s) directly. Thank you in advance.

LOVE & MARRIAGE - FEBRUARY 13TH/14TH

In honor of the sacrament of marriage and the special love shared between two persons, Father Gyan will be blessing all married couples at St-Columban on Saturday, February 13th and at St-Al's on Sunday, February 14th. In the weeks leading up to the special mass, paper hearts will be made available for couples to write their names and the number of years married. These hearts will be collected and placed in the church. Whatever anniversary you may be celebrating this year - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and many more.
