THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

June 28, 2009

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                             Wisdom 1.13-15; 2:23-24

Responsorial Psalm:             I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.

Reading II                            2 Corinthians 8.7, 9, 13-15

Gospel:                                Mark 5.21-24, 35-43

·         Jesus was being pushed from all sides, but he could distinguish between the anonymous jostling of bodies in a crowd, and the visceral desire for healing in the touch of the ailing woman.

·         His healing action was never magical or impersonal. It cost him, for it was empowered by prayer, fasting and a personal affection for those he cured.

We would like to especially thank Julie McCann for all the time and effort she put into preparing for this milestone.  Job well done Julie! Also thank you to Julie’s team of volunteers.  We could not have done it without you.

We look forward to our next 50 years.

INVITATION FROM ST-FRANçOIS-DE-SALES – We have been invited to take part in the Eucharist at St-François-de-Sales, July 19th at 11:00 a.m.   For seven Sundays during the summer, a special choir will be singing the “Messe Québécoise” by the French composer Pierick Houdy.  For each of these Sundays, St-François community will be receiving a different cultural group from the rich cultural mix of Gatineau.   The guests will take an active part in the liturgy (processions, responsorial psalm, communion hymn, etc.).  The guests are also asked to contribute something of their cultural heritage to the museum, which the community has set up for summer visitors.   Anyone interested in participating, please contact Pauline Leduc at 819-663-1121 or at pleduc@sympatico.ca

MEET & GREET – will be on July 5th following the 11 a.m. Mass.

FLOWERS FOR THE ALTAR

It is the time of the year when many people have beautiful flowers in their gardens.  Would you like to share some flowers with the church? If you do, please bring them 15 minutes before Mass so we have time to arrange them for the altar.  Thank you in advance.
