THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

November 17, 2013

FOOD FOR THE WEEK – November 16/17, 2013

Reading I                             Malachi 4.1-2

Responsorial Psalm:             The Lord is coming to judge the peoples with equity.

Reading II                            2 Thessalonians 3.7-12

Gospel:                                Luke 21.5-19

·         The temple was not just the centre of the Jews’ civilization: it was the place where God lived among them. Jesus told them that it was all going to fall apart!

·         Is there any way in which my secure center – either personal or national – threatens to collapse? The key words from Jesus in all of this are, “Do not be terrified.”

·         Can I allow Jesus, the Consoler, to speak to me, wherever I am?

ST. ALOYSIUS ANNUAL MEETING

St. Aloysius Annual Meeting will be held in the hall after the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, December 1, 2013.  A luncheon will be served.  This is a great opportunity to hear the reports of everything done in the past year and also to express opinions and suggestions to improve our parish life.  It is also at this meeting that wardens are elected.  It is really encouraging when a lot of people show their interest by attending.
