TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

August 31 and September 1, 2013

AUGUST 31/SEPTEMBER 1

Reading I                             Sirach 3.17-20, 28-29

Reading II                            Hebrews 12.18-19, 22-24a

Gospel:                                Luke 14.1, 7-14

·         Jesus, how often my giving is corrupted by self-interest and the hope of favours in return.  You gave to me without hope of return.

·         I can do you no favours, but you taught me that love means giving without expectations, that there is more happiness in giving than in receiving.
