HOLY WEEK

Holy Week is the week which precedes the great feast of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday – it includes the last day of Lent and the beginning of the Easter Triduum.  During Holy Week, the Church celebrates the mysteries of salvation accomplished by Christ in the last days of his life on earth, beginning with his messianic entrance into Jerusalem.

On Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00 am there will be a diocesan celebration at St. Joseph’s Cathedral for the dedication of the cathedral. For this occasion, Monseigneur Durocher is looking to form a 30-40 person choir (4 voices).

Do you love to sing hymns? Do you have choral experience? Are you able to learn your voice part on your own either with sheet music or audio tracks? If you answered yes to all three, then this might be of interest to you.

There will be one meeting and 3 practices before the celebration as follows:

Saturday, March 23 (11:00 to 12:00) - Initial meeting (partitions and audio tracks will be given out)

Saturday, April 13 (10:00 to 12:00) – First practice

Meeting and the first practice will be at St. René church (Ste-Trinité parish)

400 Raymond Street (Gatineau sector).

Saturday, April 20 (10:00 to 12:00) – Second practice

Thursday, April 24 (19:00 to 21:00) – Third and final practice

These two practices will be at St. Joseph’s Cathedral (Hull sector).

If you are available for all of these dates and would like to participate in this wonderful celebration as part of the choir, please contact Ginette Delorme at the Diocesan Center (819-771-8391 ext. 222) before March 15.
