TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

October 6/7, 2012

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                             Genesis 2.7ab, 15, 18-24

Responsorial Psalm:             May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives.

Reading II                            Hebrews 2.9-11

Gospel:                                Mark 10.2-16

·                     Two “cares” feature in the gospel today: care for marriage and care for children.

·                     Perhaps in our prayer today we can bring to mind people who are close to us and who have marriage or family cares, and pray for them.  Help us, Lord to truly care for the earth, for marriage and for children in our society.

ARE YOU NEW TO OUR PARISH?

Welcome to all who want to make their faith home here! You may have come from other places. You may have been “away for a while”. Be assured that we love to have you among us. We would appreciate it very much if you identify yourself at Mass. It would also help if you would take the time to fill out a registration form. The next time you are with us, you may leave it in the collection basket or give it to one of the ushers or to the priest.

            Welcome.

ENVELOPES – FOR TAX PURPOSES

If you are interested in having collections envelopes for either parish, please contact the office or one of your Wardens.  Envelopes are a convenient way to make your contribution to support your church and at the same time receive an Income tax receipt.  Receipts are issued at the end of the year in time for your tax return.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.

Thank you for all the graces and blessings. You have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our
faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends.

Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and
blessing throughout the coming year.

We ask this through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
