TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

October 1/2, 2011

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                             Isaiah 5.1-7

Responsorial Psalm:             The vineyard of the Lord is the house of Israel.

Reading II                            Philippians 4.6-9

Gospel:                                Matthew 21.33-43

·         The stone at the top of the arch holds the arch together.  Without its strength and correct positioning, the arch falls. Jesus is the rejected one who has become the centre of our faith and our lives.

·         When Jesus is rejected, it only strengthens his relationship with his Father, who makes him the keystone and the centre of gospel-faith.  He knows our weakness and the pain of rejection; is this what makes us want to be close to him and to follow him closely?

ARE YOU NEW TO OUR PARISH?

Welcome to all who want to make their faith home here! You may have come from other places. You may have been “away for a while”. Be assured that we love to have you among us. We would appreciate it very much if you identified yourself at Mass. It would also help if you would take the time to fill out a registration form. The next time you are with us, you may leave it in the collection basket or give it to one of the ushers or to the priest.

            Welcome.

For our CHILDREN

Each Sunday (except special events.)
Come and join us downstairs for our Liturgy of the word with children.  We will continue with the Liturgy of the Mass at a level that the Children will find easier to understand. For more info. Contact Louise MacMillan (819-643-1156 or Donna Escander (819-568-1057)

DIOCESAN PASTORAL LAUNCH – “Walking our Land”

Every year, the Diocese “launches” into the new pastoral year with a gathering of all those involved in their parishes.  This year, there will be four separate gatherings.

The English Zone of the Gatineau Diocese will gather on Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at St. Mark Parish in Aylmer.  The Diocesan Coordinator of Pastoral Care, Michel Nolin, extends an invitation to all priests, pastoral team members, including liturgy ministers, wardens and anyone else interested to attend this launch.  Registration is required in advance – all those interested should advise our parish Secretary no later than October 21st.

ROMAN MISSAL

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has received recognition for all sections of the English translation of the revised Roman Missal for use in Canada.  The Permanent Council has agreed that the first Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011, will be the date for the implementation of the English translation of the Missal.

ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE TO SAINT-JOSEPH ORATORY

To celebrate the first anniversary of Saint Brother André canonization, the Dioceses of Ottawa, Alexandria-Cornwall, Pembroke, Kingston, Gatineau, and Mont Laurier are having a pilgrimage to the Oratory on Sunday, October 16th.  The celebrant will be Mgr. Paul-André Durocher, Bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall.   For more information, please call Mike Budge in the evening at 613-224-8110.
