TRINITY SUNDAY

June 18/19, 2011

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                             Exodus 34.4b-6, 8-9

Responsorial Psalm:        Glory and praise for ever!

Reading II                            2 Corinthians 13.11-13

Gospel                                  John 3.16-18

·         They looked down from heaven – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – with love for their people, for all of us.  They could see men and women of all races, colours, ages, faiths.  They could see their holiness and their sin.  They knew help was needed for the human race and they waited a long time before the time was right.

·         Prayer inserts us into our true space of belonging – into the community of the Trinity – and in that prayer we are called to bring this divine help to the human race.

FAMILY BBQ AFTER MASS - JUNE 26

Well folks summer is almost here and it is time to think about our family get-together. Just like last year, if you are able to stay after mass on June 26, then you are more than welcome to bring the foodstuff that you would like to cook up on the BBQ for lunch. No need to worry about the condiments and drinks, they will be supplied. Once again we will set up outside in the fenced-in area next to the side door (a large tent will be set up like last year to provide some coverage). If it rains, we will gather downstairs. Feel free to bring a couple of frisbees or footballs to toss around.

Okay so how many people will be there? Well you can help us out by giving us a little information on the sheet provided at the entrance to the church.

One last thing, if you have a BBQ to lend and/or a means of transporting it, please give Caroline Cook a call (819-663-2362) by Friday June 24.

See you there!                                               Your Pastoral Team

SUMMER BBQ!!!

Summer has arrived; help St. Columban celebrate on July 9th after mass.  Tickets are $5.00 which will include a hot dog/hamburger and drink.  Salads/Desserts will be potluck, so feel free to bring your favourite for everyone to try.  Bring your own Chair.  Tickets are available from any of the warden's - Kathy, Maynard, Charlie, Paul.  Thank You and hope to see you in the Sun.

CHAIRPERSON OF ST. AL’S

We are pleased to announce that Michael McCann has been re-appointed as Chairperson of St. Aloysius Wardens Board until June 30, 2012.

May the Lord bless him as he carries out his responsibilities in our parish.

    Thank you for accepting Mike.

PASTORAL TEAM

My sincere thanks to the outgoing members of the Pastoral Team.  During the past 3 years they helped our community celebrate the mysteries of our Faith in a meaningful way.  In particular, their contribution in uplifting the Spirit of the faithful in our community life, in communal worship and in the Sacramental life, is greatly valued and appreciated.  Many thanks and God Bless.

                                                                    Fr. Gyan

Happy Father’s Day

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it...
