TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

September 25/26, 2010

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                             Amos 6.1a, 4-7

Responsorial Psalm:             Praise the Lord, O my soul!

Reading II                            1 Timothy 6.11-16

Gospel:                                Luke 16.19-31

·         This powerful prophecy of Amos, and the parable of Dives and Lazarus in today’s gospel, are about thoughtless luxury, the enjoyment of riches without any sense of responsibility towards those who have little.

·         Lord, keep me mindful of those that I can help. Keep me alert to the needs around me and save me from the indifference of “those who feel secure”.
