Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

October 11/12, 2008

FOOD FOR THE WEEK

Reading I                   Isaiah 25.6-10a
Responsorial Psalm: I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
Reading II                 Philippians 4.10-14, 19-20++
Gosepl                       Matthew 22.1-14

•    Lord, I marvel at the freedom shown by St. Paul. He sat lightly to plenty and to poverty, and could face any sort of trouble – he endured scourging, shipwreck, imprisonment and much more – with peace of soul, because of his trust in your support.
•  I would pray for that strength, that trust.

NO WEEKDAY MASSES

Because of Fr. Gyan going home to India on vacation, there will be no weekday masses for the month of October.  Weekday masses will resume in November.

By the way, Fr. Gyan has arrived safe and sound in India at the Bishop’s House. I (Carol) received a telephone call from him last Wednesday evening that all is well and  have received another call from him Thursday morning, that he is on his way to a pilgrimage and then off to visit his family for the rest of his vacation.

THANK YOU

Thank you to all the parishioners who helped with the Meet and Greet by setting-up, cleaning-up and donating food.  Our Meet and Greet is a nice way to get to chat with new and old parishioners and become a closer community.  Thank you for your support.

MONTH OF MARY - October is the month of Mary, please join us in the Rosary every Sunday before mass, beginning at 10:40 in the left wing of the church.

We will also be creating a Rosary with each bead representing a special intention. For those who are interested in participating, you will have the opportunity to take a bead home, pray for the intention noted on it and return the bead to complete the Rosary. For further information please see Geoff Guitard or Julie McCann.
